Services to cancer patients at RIH go beyond the care offered in the Cancer Clinic. Medical Imaging and the RIH Laboratory provide patients with a wide range of testing when faced with a potential cancer diagnosis. Tumours and other cancer-related surgeries are performed at RIH by the highly-skilled surgical team. Cancer patients are followed by RIH oncologists, and chemotherapy treatment is also offered. And if a cancer patient is feeling unwell outside of the normal Cancer Clinic hours, he/she can always rely on the Emergency Department to offer extra care when needed.
Donor-funded equipment that benefits cancer patients can be found throughout the hospital—from ultrasounds and laboratory equipment to patient comfort items in the Cancer Clinic and surgical equipment for tumor removal.
