IMAGING THE FUTURE:
A NEW MRI
Last June, we lost our son Keegan after a two and a half year battle with cancer. He was 25 years old.
After his initial diagnosis, like so many families, we were suddenly thrown into a world of appointments, uncertainty and hope. Holding tight to every tool and every moment that might help us understand what he was facing.
Medical imaging became an important part of Keegan’s journey. Each scan represented answers we were searching for to make decisions quickly. Access to timely and accurate imaging was vital.
Through it all, Keegan showed incredible strength and positivity. His journey has changed us forever.
Today, we are choosing to honour Keegan’s memory by helping other families who might experience what we went through. A new MRI scanner will mean clearer images, faster diagnoses and more timely treatment for patients in our community. Not just cancer patients but many other patients who will need an MRI for diagnosis and treatment.
No family should have to wait for answers when time matters most.
By donating to this cause, you are helping bring better technology, improved care and more hope to those who need it.
Investing in precision care for our community.
“The new RIH MRI machine being housed in the Kamloops Radiation Centre means we can detect disease earlier and accurately diagnose conditions with greater precision. For our patients, that translates into faster answers and the ability to begin treatment sooner. – Dr. Robert Colistro, Dept Head, RIH Medical Imaging
“Currently with only one MRI scanner in the Thompson Cariboo region it is essential to add a second MRI to keep up with growing need. This second MRI will significantly expand our ability to provide timely, life-changing diagnostic care.” – Harley Salmond, Director, Medical Imaging Operations, Thompson Cariboo
